A shirtless, homeless maniac was arrested Thursday morning for allegedly using a cane to smash the front windshield of an MTA bus in the Bronx, police said.

Austy Persons, 62, went berserk on the BX2 bus while it was stopped at a light at Grand Concourse and East 149th Street in the South Bronx at about 7:30 p.m., according to police and transit officials.

Persons allegedly used a cane to repeatedly hit the bus’s windshield in the attack.

Cops arrested Persons at the scene and charged him with criminal mischief. No one was injured, authorities said.

An MTA spokesperson said the bus was taken out of service and about 30 customers needed to take another bus.

Video posted on Citizen showed Persons being arrested soon after he struck the bus.

“He’s here every morning when I take my kid to school, cursing out other people,” a voice in the video says.
